13. Water

Okay, so this one might seem super obvious, but trust me, it’s easy to forget in the chaos of a newborn shoot. You’re running around, making sure the baby is comfy, the parents are happy, and the lighting is just right. Staying hydrated is key for everyone involved.
- Photographer: You’re the one moving the most, so keep a water bottle handy.
- Parents: They’re probably exhausted and possibly breastfeeding, so water is a must.
- Everyone else: If you have assistants or other family members around, make sure they have access to water too.
Seriously, dehydration can lead to headaches and fatigue, and nobody wants that during a photoshoot. Keep everyone happy and hydrated, and the shoot will go much smoother.
