Blankets are super important for newborn shoots. You might not think about it, but they can really save the day. I always bring a few different kinds with me.

  • Soft, neutral-colored blankets are a must. They work well as backgrounds or to wrap the baby.
  • I also pack a couple of textured blankets to add some visual interest.
  • Don’t forget a thicker blanket for padding or warmth, especially if the studio is a bit chilly.

Sometimes parents don’t have the perfect blanket, or maybe they forgot to grab one. Having a selection on hand means you’re always prepared, and it can really help create a cozy, safe feeling for the baby during the shoot.
